Put Your Avatar to Work: The Marketplace Is Live

Earn credits from your avatars, battle your friends in one-click Halloween music videos, and direct pro-quality shots where the actor never drifts

Four things shipped this week, and they fit together: your avatar can now earn credits while you sleep, anyone can throw it into a Halloween battle music video with one click, the renders it stars in got a serious quality upgrade, and you can finally direct the camera without the actor's face or lip-sync falling apart. Here's the tour.

The Avatar Marketplace

Until now, an avatar you built was yours alone to render. The new marketplace changes that: flip on the Marketplace tab in your avatar's editor, pick a credit cost per second (the default is 0.1), and your avatar is listed for anyone to browse, search, and render with.

When someone renders a line with your avatar, they pay the normal render cost plus your rate for every second of speech — and your share lands in your account as credits you can spend on your own renders or gift to someone else. The rate is locked in when a render starts, so changing your price never surprises anyone mid-job. Marketplace avatars also show up where people actually render: the avatar picker on the Halloween page and the render card on your public user page both now list them, with the price shown up front before anything is charged.

If you've spent time getting a voice clone and a look just right, that work is now an asset. List it.

One-Click Halloween Battle Music Videos

masky.ai/halloween turns a handful of avatars into a full superhero-versus-monster battle music video with one click. Pick the combatants — your own avatars, or marketplace ones — choose a budget, and the pipeline does the rest: it writes the battle (a verse for each fighter and a shared chorus), transforms every avatar into its hero or monster look, has the song actually sung, lip-syncs each singer onto their transformed look for exactly the lines they sing, cuts in battle b-roll, and delivers a finished, shareable video.

You pick the price before anything runs — 5, 10, 50, or 100 credits, which scales song length and how much of it is lip-synced — and you're only charged when the video is actually delivered. A failed job costs nothing. Finished battles land in the community gallery on the page and on your /music page.

It's all driven by a public API too (POST /api/halloween/generate), so your agents can start battles for you — docs at masky.ai/masky-api.md.

Pro-Quality Avatar Renders

The speak endpoint — the thing behind every talking-avatar video on Masky — now renders its default high quality on a new pro avatar model at 768p. The difference is immediately visible: sharper detail, a steadier face across the whole clip, and tighter mouth sync. It runs at 0.045 credits per second of video, and the lighter medium tier (0.025/s) is still there for high-volume use like live conversations. Nothing about your calls changes — the same request just comes back looking better.

Direct the Shot: Consistent Actors in Moving Scenes

The classic failure mode of AI video is the talking scene: ask a text-to-video model for a character speaking inside a moving shot and you get a stranger whose mouth flaps at random. The new scenePrompt field on speak fixes this. You describe the camera and the scene — "handheld camera slowly orbits as rain streaks the windshield and wipers sweep" — and the pro renderer animates the entire frame while keeping your avatar's identity and lip-sync anchored. You direct the shot; the actor stays the actor, and every word still lands on the mouth.

Combined with image editing, this is a repeatable recipe for real filmmaking: compose the exact frame you want around your avatar, then speak the line with a scenePrompt for motion. The full "talking avatar in a complex scene" walkthrough is in the API docs.

Try It

Browse the marketplace, start a battle at masky.ai/halloween, or list your own avatar and set a price — it takes one toggle. New accounts get free credits to play with, and everything above works from the API, the CLI, and MCP as well as the site. Happy Halloween. 🎃
